The Weekly Mews with Armani

What a week! Armani had his annual vet check, and he would like to know why he has to come for an annual check up when he has already been to the vet SO MUCH lately.

#FreeArmani

He is a substantial 18.9 pounds (8.6 kilos), and he is apparently due for a dental cleaning. We want to do whatever we need to keep him healthy, but we are nervous about the vet wanting to put him under anesthesia for the procedure. On the one hand, his diabetes makes him higher risk for complications being put under, but on the other hand, his diabetes makes him higher risk for infection from the gingivitis.

If anyone happens to know magically what the right choice is, please let us know!

Plotting their revenge

On the plus side, their traumatic car ride brought Armani and Vera together in a common goal to teach us a lesson for making them go to the vet. Vera is also supposed to get a teeth cleaning, but she’s a good candidate for the procedure, which makes the decision much simpler.

Time for rest

The vet also wants to give Armani another Libre device, and she says that, if his sugars are good again, he will not need one for six months. His diabetes is considered “managed” now, and I’m so proud of him for taking all his shots!

We know he’s getting stronger because he got up on the bed this morning without using his steps! When I felt him jump up, I thought it was Vera because it’s been so long since he has been able to.

Such a happy boy

We hope he keeps getting stronger, and we can keep making the right choices to give him the best life possible.
